The Watch Soundtrack & Songs in the Movie's Trailer Including Dr. Dre, Skrillex & Bachman Turner Overdrive
Formerly Titled Neighborhood Watch
Think Ghostbusters & Men in Black set in suburbia as 50/50 writers Seth Rogen (This is the End, Superbad, Pineapple Express) & Evan Goldberg (Goon, The Green Hornet) The Watch retitled from Neighborhood Watch.
Formerly legal aliens themselves, Canadians Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg hooked up with another former green card holder, Christophe Beck to score The Watch Soundtrack. Beck's filmography includes Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Hangover, Pink Panther & more.
No official soundtrack or score for The Watch has been released but many of the songs in the movie are available as individual downloads including music by J. Geils Band "Centerfold", Keith Sweat "Make It Last Forever", Bachman-Turner Overdrive "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", Christopher Cross "Sailing", Santigold "The Keepers", Deana Carter "You and Tequila", John Williams "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", The Doors "People Are Strange", Rufus Featuring Chakha Khan "Sweet Thing", The Black Keys "I Got Mine", Lloyd Banks "Beamer, Benz or Bentley", Roscoe Dash "Good, Good Night", Eazy-E "Boyz-N-The-Hood", The Old Nationals "Bad Habits" and N.W.A "Straight Outta Compton".
According to BoxOfficeMojo, The Watch grossed a total of $68 million worldwide with a little more than half in domestic receipts. Sounds pretty good until you take into account this sci-fi comedy cost $68 million to produce and that doesn't even count promotional costs.
The Watch starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill & Richard Ayoade along with Rosemarie DeWitt, Will Forte and a cameo by Andy Samberg was released in theaters July 27, 2012 and the DVD was released on November 13, 2012. If you like the sci-fi comedy theme of The Watch, look for the 2013 summer release of R.I.P.D., a summer buddy movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges that's long on fun and full of similar surprises and special effects.
For more Vince Vaughn, you may have seen the ads where Owen Wilson & Vaughn penetrate the Googleplex as the oldest mid-life interns in The Internship which came out June 7, 2013. Delivery Man co-starring Chris Pratt and Colbie Smulders comes out October 4, 2013 while the romantic comedy A Case of You directed by Kat Coiro with a screenplay written by Drew Barrymore's ex Justin Long comes out this summer in The Netherlands August 15, 2013 having already been screened at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 21, 2013.
Ben Stiller (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) recently played himself along with Vanessa Williams (Temptation Confessions of a Marriage Counselor), Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) & Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid) who made cameo appearances in the indie film He's Way More Famous Than You which was screened January 2013 at the Slamdance Film Festival, April 2013 at the Phoenix Film Festival and was screened in select theaters May 10, 2013. Top 4 Reasons to See The Watch - Hey, There's No "I" in Team
1. SAME WRITERS AS SUPERBAD & THE PINEAPPLE EXPRESS
If you like your movies served up with raunchy, filthy humor, then you'll like The Watch which was written by Seth Rogen and his writing and producing partner Evan Goldberg along with Jared Stern.
2. BEN STILLER & VINCE VAUGHN
The more normal he plays it, the funnier he gets and Ben Stiller is at his twitchiest as an overly compulsive, controlling suburban know-it-all while Vince Vaughn plays count to his character as a fun loving dude that Rogen & Goldberg have armed with snappy one-liners.
3. IF YOU LIKE SCI-FI & COMEDY
Here you get two genres mixed up into one movie that just makes alien busting messy, gooey, plain fun.
4. THE MUSIC
Such a great mix of music. From John Williams iconic theme song from Close Encounters of the Third Kind to classic rock from the Doors and Bachman Turner Overdrive. One of the most popular songs in the movie is "Boyz-N-The-Hood" by Eazy-E in addition to "Straight Outta Compton".
Song When They're Singing in the Car - "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet"
Get a bunch of guys in the car, some brewskies and throw in some classic rock from Bachman Turner Overdrive with "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" and you know a good time's a comin', that is until you hit somethin'. The group then briefly contemplates not reporting their hit and run and at best think they've run over a crate of octopus.

Songs From The Watch
"Straight Outta Compton" - N.W.A.
Here's a clean, radio edit with all the filthy, explicit language dropped. The song is still dope even without all the expletives.
"Centerfold" - J Geils Band
This video dates back to the original pioneering days of MTV from J Geils Band's heyday with their album Freeze Frame. It's so great EMI decided to load it up on their official YouTube VEVO channel. What's great is that back in the 80s, who really knew what a music video was supposed to be so bands were just figuring things out and a lot of the videos that came out that decade were playful in tone.
"Make It Last Forever" - Keith Sweat Featuring Jackie McGhee
Here's a great live performance where Keith Sweat reminisces about the song and brings on a guest performer to duet with him.

"Sailing" - Christopher Cross
Doesn't this song take you back? As soon as you hear the first few notes, I don't know about you, but I just wanna whip out my old record collection as it brings back memories of high school and the 80s.
I'm instantly reminded of his hits Arthur's Theme, Ride Like the Wind, Think of Laura and All Right. Rhino Hi Five has a great EP of his hits but there's also a nice collection called Christopher Cross Live that's worth a listen in case you're feeling a bit nostalgic.

As Vince Vaughn exclaims -- it's tigers, flames AND wings! If you're interested in a similar jacket, the closest I could find is this sweatshirt from renown tatoo artist Ed Hardy. Click on the photo to see different views and a close-up of the embroidery.

"What Are We a Do-Wop Group?" - The Boys Get Their Swanky Jackets
The control freak Ben Stiller is bummed out that Vince Vaughn's character modified his original neighborhood watch logo from a simple eye to a more flamboyant flaming tiger, as Vaughn explains, "Whenever you have a tiger, flames and wings, it's like the Chinese symbol for shut the f#%k up".
